A week to go!

Only a week to go before we leave on our trip to the Kruger Park, travelling with our friends Bruce and Margaret (Watson), and Mike and Cathy (Lahana).  Along the way we will be meeting up with Mike and Noeleen (Anema), Gavin and Pam (Younger) and Karel and Janet (Dekker).  Also hoping to cross paths with Alan and Mary (Carter) and Chris and Helen (Jackson).
The caravan is off to Gavin at CaravanLand for its pre-trip service this week, preparatory to cleaning and packing.  Although many lists have been made, ticked and cross-checked, we are sure to have forgotten something!  Fortunately our second stop is Scottburgh, where we are booked in for 5 nights, so anything that has been left behind can be got there.  After that its up into the Drakensberg where a highlight is going to be attending a performance of the famous Boys Choir.
After the Drakensberg its on to Badplaas, then in to the Kruger at Crocodile Bridge on May 18th.
Crocodile Bridge is one of the camps that we haven't stayed at before, along with Skukuza and Punda Maria.  Also Tzendze, which will be special as it is a rustic camp with no electricity, shop, restaurant, pool.
Berg-en-Dal, Letaba, Satara and Shingwedzi are camps we have visited before and are looking forward to visiting again.
While at Satara we have booked a one night stay at Manyeleti, which is a reserve just outside Kruger, sandwiched between Sabi and Timbavati about 10km from the Orpen Gate, so about an hour and a halfs drive from Satara.  We are booked into a tented camp, Ndzhaka, situated on the banks of a river.  There are only 5 2-bedded tents, a communal kitchen/diner with gas fridges, no electricity and NO FENCES! This is way off-piste for me, but I'm sure will be an unforgettable experience.  We have to take our own food, bedding and towels.  Sounds like torches and Tabard will be the order of the day!
Till next time
